Shelly Siegfried was a two-sport standout at CBC from 1973-1975, excelling in both volleyball and basketball.  She also participated on the women’s bowling team in 1975.  Siegfried played the trumpet in the CBC Jazz Band at CBC, as well as officiating volleyball and girls’ basketball as a member of the Inland Empire Officials Association.
 
Transferring to WSU in 1975, Siegfried travelled with the WSU volleyball team as their required National Official from 1975-1977.
 
Graduating from WSU in 1978 with a BS in Education, Siegfried went on to become a nationally certified official in volleyball and basketball, becoming a member of the Inland Empire Official’s Association.
 
As the top-rated volleyball official in the state of Washington and certified by the WIAA, Siegfried was selected by WIAA coaches to officiate the championship match in 1982, 1983, and 1984 for the Class A State Volleyball Championships.
 
Siegfried coached volleyball at Kamiakin HS in 1985, leading the team to their first Big 10 District Tournament.  As the Head Coach at Sandpoint High School in 1986, she took the team to the 1986 Idaho State AAA Volleyball Championship.  Siegfried was named as the Idaho State High School Coach of the Year for her efforts.
