FINAL SCORE: Columbia Basin 1  North Idaho 3   (25-20, 26-28, 25-20, 25-20)

North Idaho defeated Columbia Basin at home on Wednesday in a rough 3-1 match. CBC was able to take set 2 before dropping the following sets by a score of 25-20. Madeline Jorgenson lead the way for Basin with 8 kills while also gathering 13 digs and 17 assists in an all around effort. 

The Hawks came out sluggish in set 1 before rallying back to keep it close midway through but the NIC hitters were too much for Basin to handle. Janae Rayborn finished with 27 kills on the night for the Cardinals who outhit CBC .250 to .142 in the contest.

Basin continued to hold steady on defense in set two pulling away at the last second 28-26 behind 3 kills from both Jorgenson and Haley Bjorkman. Annie Clifton and Reina Deasy both gave a tremendous effort on the back line combining for 37 digs  but NIC found ground when it counted.

The Cardinals went on to take sets 3 and 4 in similar fashion as Rayborn continued to pound balls passed the CBC blockers each time the Hawks seemed poised to make a run.

The loss drops Columbia Basin to 11-7 on the year and 4-2 in league tied for second place. They will have their chance to earn a playoff birth with favorable matchups at home coming against the bottom of the East over the next 4 games.
