Columbia Basin lost in overtime to the Spokane Sasquatch in a roller coaster ride of a game 68-64.
Sami Sanders lead the way for CBC with 21 points while
Aislin Fiander added 13 points in the effort.
A wild game that saw neither team lead by more than 6, Basin and Spokane went right at each other early and often. It was a poor night shooting for the Hawks but they were able to force 31 Bigfoot turnovers that lead to 20 points. Spokane was able to convert 10-30 from deep while CBC only managed to make 2-14.
Down the stretch, foul trouble put both teams in jeopardy with multiple players fouling out on each side. Basin struggled to make crunch time free throws as fatigue set in late. Sanders was able to get one last look at the rim in regulation but didn't get the call. Spokane was able to make their free throws in OT as the depleted Hawks committed two uncharacteristic turnovers in the final seconds.
Another strong outing on defense gives promise for CBC moving forward as they continue to get better every game. They will hit the court again on Friday in Ontario against a 2-1 Treasure Valley team in what is sure to be another quality matchup.
