Men's Soccer held off North Idaho by a score of 2-1 to win the season series two games to one. Diego Gomez and Raymundo Mendez scored both goals for CBC in the win. 

Gomez's goal came off of a penalty kick awarded to the Hawks after a foul in the box gave the Hawks the 1-0 lead. CBC's beautiful passing was on display today as the midfielders were able to control the game and frequently put Gomez and Mario Negrete in position to score all day.

Mendez put away his goal early in the second half off a cross from defender Kobe Avila that sailed behind the defense for Mendez to coral and sent into the side net. Their only mistake on the day was a late foul in the box by defender Raymundo Curiel on a tough challenge that looked legal but the NIC attacker sold the call. North Idaho converted the PK with 15 minutes to go in the game but the Hawk defense was able to send away any try that the Cardinals would put forward.

The win bumps CBC back to 3-3-1 in conference after a tough 3 game skid early in the year. They will travel to Treasure Valley on Wednesday May 19th to keep the winning streak going.
