Columbia Basin topped Yakima Valley on Tuesday 105-77. The win marks the 3rd time the Hawks have crossed the century mark on the season. Multiple players had 20+ points lead by
Tyler Kurtz's 29 points.
Garrett Streufert had 23 and
Carson Cloaninger added 21 of his own.
Once again, Basin turned in a high scoring first half shooting 70% from the floor including 13-19 from 3PT range. Kurtz and Cloaninger combined to shoot 13-18 and 9-12 from deep. The defense came out extra aggressive to take on the challenge of facing NBA hopeful MarJon Beauchamp. CBC scored 64 points on the half for the 14 point lead.
The second half was
Garrett Streufert's turn. Streufert proceeded to break down Beauchamp on defense shooting 8-9 for 16 points against the Yakima forward. CBC scored when and where they wanted and hit the 100 mark with 5 and a half minutes to play before working in some other players. Beauchamp finished with just 17 points on 6-15 shooting. CBC lead by as much as 34 points late in the game before settling for the 105-77 win.
Another impressive win moves the Hawks to 7-2 on the year and on a collision course with first place Wenatchee Valley later in the season. Basin beat Wenatchee in their first matchup 89-68. CBC will travel to Spokane on Friday the 21st for their first matchup against the Bigfoot.
