The Spokane Sasquatch defeated Columbia Basin in both games of the double header for Sophomore night by scores of 2-1 and 2-0.
Jorja Hadden lead all attackers for CBC with 9 kills combined as the offense for Basin was not quite there.
CBC was able to take the first set against region leading Spokane after a strong start by the Hawks who lead by as many as 8 points midway through the set. CBC blockers forced several attack errors by Spokane to cruise to the 25-20 win.
Things would not fall into place the rest of the night for Basin as Spokane began to get hot. The Sasquatch took the next two sets of game 1 as CBC struggled to get any attacks passed the Bigfoot front line. Game 2 was much the same with Spokane making great saves on what looked like kills from the Hawk attackers. As the game wore on, CBC tried to find space with some placed tips and change of direction but nothing seemed to fall for them. Spokane took both sets quickly despite a late charge in set two by CBC cutting the lead to just 3 points at 24-21.
The losses drop Basin back to 7-8 on the year with just one match remaining. They will travel to Walla Walla on Friday June 4th for the final games of the spring. The matches will start at 5pm.
