North Idaho defeated Columbia Basin at home 1-0 in the final regular season match of the year. Despite their first loss of the year, the Hawks had already clinched a region championship and a first round bye in the playoffs.

In what was expected to be a great matchup, CBC and NIC did not disappoint. Early in the first half, it was Basin who controlled the tempo and possession. Each team exchanged an open opportunity in the first 15 minutes but both were denied at the doorstep. As the half wore on, CBC was able to get pressure on the Cardinal defense but came up empty handed after a few good looks from inside the box.

Outside of halftime, the Hawks made a point to spread the minutes around in the half as not to risk injury or multiple cards. NIC scored the lone goal on the day with a shot that keeper Jayauna Keister was able to get both her hands on but had it just roll out enough to land on the wrong side of the end line.

CBC continued to attack despite the deficit but as the clock hit 90 minutes, the center official decided there would be no awarded stoppage time. A confused Hawk roster turned to voice their confusion on the decision but the score would remain final at 1-0. Regardless of the loss, CBC will host a second round playoff game at home on Saturday, November 5th where they will take on the winner of North #2 and West #3. The winner of the Saturday game will move on to the Final Four in Seatlle.
