Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer dominates Whatcom 4-0 in Quarterfinals

Men's Soccer is headed back to the Final Four after defeating 2nd ranked Whatcom 4-0 in blowout.

In a rematch of their earlier 2-0 win at the NWAC Friendlies, CBC had their work cut out for them against the Orcas who were just a point shy of a North region title. After a few quick scares from Whatcom, CBC began to take the action right to the Orcas. In the 19th minute, Johnny Ramirez sent a corner kick into the box that bounced around before Gabriel Delgado put it away. But as was the case in the Women's game, the goal was wiped off on what CBC believed to be a phantom foul call.

CBC would not be deterred by the call as they again went into the attacking box and again Ramirez found Delgado and this time it would count for the first goal of the game putting the Hawks ahead 1-0. Whatcom seemed shellshocked as they were able to get anything going against a Hawk defense who was on their A-game.

In the 43rd minute, Ramirez put together a profession run slicing and dicing 4 Whatcom defenders on his way to a solo goal by himself. The Sophomore forward turned in his best performance of the year just when the Hawks needed it.

Outside of half, Delgado got loose behind the defense again and was able to beat the keeper for the third goal of the game. Now with the score at 3-0, Whatcom turned to trying to create chaos by starting fights with CBC who were not having it. Raymundo Mendez scored the 4th goal of the game, again off the pass from Ramirez as it was all Hawks, all day.

The 4-0 win moves CBC on to the Final Four in Seattle as they await the winner of Everett and Lane.
