Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Barker's 16 leads CBC past Clark in physical game

In the last matchup of the CBC Invitational, it was CBC who faced off against Clark College. Looking to remain undefeated on the year, the Hawks came out again with great defensive intensity holding the Penguins to just 7 points over the first 13 minutes of the game. Bobby Siebers was given the starting nod tonight and kept his hot hand alive draining multiple 3's early as Basin climbed out to an early lead. Clark struggled to match the physicality by Latrell Barker and the Hawks as they were able to grab 11 offensive rebounds in the frame.

Coming out of halftime, Clark hit a few big shots early to try and force the issue back in their favor but the Hawk defense was just too much. Barker poured in 8 of his 16 in the half as Basin began to pull away late.

Tempers flared late as fouls began to mount up early. Both teams went at it physically but the officiating crew was able to keep everyone in line without incident. With 5 seconds left on the clock and the shot clock running out, Lawson Vella buried a deep 3 to avoid a turnover. As the final seconds ticked off, a Clark player got in Coach Owens face taking issue over an unknown play. After a bit of shoving from both teams, everyone was cleared out without incident.

CBC moves to 6-0 on the year with the 24 point win They will head to the Linn-Benton Crossover tournament to take on the Roadrunners and Lower Columbia/Skagit Valley beginning Thursday.
