Treasure Valley defeated Columbia Basin by a score of 77-57. Emma Maxwell scored 16 points in the effort while Kiana Lizardo added 11.
Both teams came out early with multiple defensive stops as the Hawks were determined to make stops tonight. With Coach Sokaitis putting a heavy emphasis on rebounding, all 5 players crashed the glass.
After 1 Quarter, Treasure Valley lead by just 2 points but Basin kept pace through the entire half lead by Maxwells's 9Â points. Both Jada Liulamaga and Jenn Jacobo provided the offensive spark off the bench with a combined 8 points.Â
Treasure Valley was able to knock down a couple of jump shots just before the half taking a 34-28 lead into the break.
The Chukars took advantage of the fast break early in the 3rd getting back-to-back and-1's while CBC went cold from the field. Basin failed to stem the bleeding as Treasure Valley pulled ahead 56-38 heading into the 4th.
The Hawks continued to grind away on defense in the 4th but the lead was insurmountable. Jacobo and Lizardo both chipped in 11 points in the quarter but the Chukars came away with the win.
CBC will finish their season on the road against Wenatchee Valley on March 9th as they try to end on a winning note.Â
