Columbia Basin defeated Blue Mountain in convincing fashion 8-0 behind 4 goals from forward
Alexis Olivas.
Olivas scored the first two of five goals in the first half by CBC as the Hawks relentlessly peppered the Timberwolf goal to the tune of a 25-1 disparity in shots on goal. Olivas reached a hat trick with her third goal in the first period at the 35 minute mark off a rebounded shot from
Hali'a Kalehuawehe. Basin continuously held possession in the Blue Mountain half resulting in a lopsided amount of opportunities.
Both
Ana Andrade and transfer
Yareli Sanchez also converted in the half for the 5-goal leading heading into the second half.
The Hawks did not let up as the continued to control time of possession in the second half with technically sound attacks. Olivas, Sanchez and Jenessis Cortez each put away a second-half goal as CBC kept rolling.
The 8-0 final helps Basin improve to 3-0 in NWAC play including a 1-0 record to open up East Region play. They will host Treasure Valley on Wednesday the 14th as they look to stay undefeated on the year.Â
