Columbia Basin defeated North Idaho 3-0 on sophomore night in Pasco. Gabriel Delgado scored twice in the effort while Alexander Magana scored the game winner.

Ten sophomores laced em up and started for Hawks on Sophomore night as CBC cruised to another 3-0 victory in league. North Idaho seemed content to pack it in on defense making it initially hard for Basin to find any crevices but Magana got loose in the 20th minute on a volley from Sylver Schweiger for the opening goal.

Once on the board, the Hawks were able to settle into the game and control the tempo for the rest of the day. Their methodical approach resulted in 14 shots (8 on frame) for the game. Outside of halftime, Delgado was able to put away a banger on a drop pass from Jorge Perez making it 2-0. In the 84th minute, Julian Reyes drew a foul inside the box which was awarded a penalty kick. Reyes gave way to Delgado who had no problem getting it past a diving keeper for the final goal of the day.

The win makes it 365 days since CBC last lost a match. They will travel to Walla Walla on Saturday with a perfect regular season in the crosshairs. The 2023 East Region champs will then host a playoff game on November 4th where they will wait for a quarterfinal winner.
