Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Randle lifts CBC late in grinder; 55-53

Columbia Basin defeated Clark in the final game of the 2023 Crossover tournament. Ta'Veus Randle scored 16 points to lead all scorers while Javon Handcox added 12 in support.

After sustaining injuries to Jayden Martinez and Anton Williams, the shorthanded Hawks needed a big effort defensively to get by Clark. Both teams struggled to score in the first half but Basin was able to play good defense while getting good looks inside from Latrell Barker. Barker's 7 paced CBC for the 27 points in the period while the defense held the Penguins to just 19 points headed into the break.

Outside of halftime, Clark made an early run in the first 10 minutes jumping ahead 40-37. But Randle was able to get a few big shots late in the game including a 3-pointer to make it 45-40 with 6 minutes to go. After a Twazae Gladney Jr. 3, Randle was able to get a couple jumpshots to go down, giving CBC the 52-44 lead where they would close out the Penguins by a final of 55-53.

The win improves CBC to 8-4. They will finish out 2023 with a solo game AT Linn-Benton on the 21st. The Hawks previously beat the Roadrunners 72-46 at home. Tipoff scheduled for 5pm in Albany, OR.
