Walla Walla defeated Columbia Basin 91-75 at home. Despite the loss, CBC clinches a playoff spot with Yakima Valley losing to North Idaho.
Christian Cross scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace the Hawks while
Jayden Martinez scored 15 off the bench.
Sophomore night did not go as planned as the Warriors hot shooting stole the show. Walla Walla raced out to an early 19-6 lead. CBC closed the gap to 19-16 but the Warriors were still able to keep the Hawks at arm's length all night. Basin struggled to connect from deep outside of the 12 from Cross in the first half. Walla Walla was able to get big shots when they needed to while the usual suspects for CBC were quiet early on.
Outside of halftime, the Hawks were unable to get any 50/50 calls while shooting just 47% in the period. A few calls late allowed the Warriors to capitalize on technical free-throws to put the game out of reach for good.
CBC drops to 8-6 in league (18-6 overall) with 2 games to go. They will head to Ontario to make up their game against Treasure Valley on Monday starting at 7:30pm MST (6:30 local) before traveling to Spokane for the final regular season game.
