CBC had a busy weekend with Softball opening up at home while basketball clinches playoff spots and baseball rebounds from 1-3 start.

With weather playing a role in some cancelations across the state, Softball saw their first two home series against Edmonds and Centralia get canceled. Fortunately, Yakima Valley was able to travel down I-82 for a couple of impromptu games. The Hawks were able to take both of those games in short order scoring a combined 34 runs. Sophomore
Madi Olson lead the way for CBC going 6-7 from the plate including 5 extra base hits, a home run and 9 RBIs. Both
Macao Jackson and
Johnna Overby turned in complete game wins looking stellar in their first outings.

Meanwhile, Baseball also had to postpone their Friday series against Big Bend to Monday. They first opened up with Centralia on Saturday winning both games behind quality starting pitching. Starters
Dylan Berry and
Cameron Soliz combined for quality starts with Berry going 6 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 10 and Soliz going 7 innings allowing just 1 hit and also striking out 10 resulting in two wins. Monday against Big Bend, Basin faced a 9-1 deficit in Game 1 but after a collision at the plate, the Vikings had 9 players ejected along with
Steven Meier for Basin. The Hawks continued to battle and eventually won the game in 12 innings on a
Hayden Matray single. The Vikings roared back in Game 2 with a barrage of hits to take the second game of the day 15-1.

Men's and Women's Basketball traveled to Treasure Valley on Monday for a makeup game against the Chukars. After clinching their first region title since 2014, the Hawks took down the Chukars 85-62 lead by
Trinidie Nichols who scored 24 points while tallying 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the Hawks. Men's Basketball also took care of business after clinching a playoff birth. Six different players scored in double figures lead by
Amar Rivers with 14 points while turning the Chukars over 23 times on their way to the 79-61 win. Both teams will finish the regular season on the road against Spokane with tipoff scheduled for March 1st at 5:30/7:30pm.
