Bellevue defeated Columbia Basin 3-2 in the home opener for the Hawks. The Bulldogs were able to win 3 sets in a row including a 17-15 5th set. Caydence Taylor lead the way for CBC with 11 kills while Brooklyn Cagle had 20 assists off the bench.

In the second meeting between the two teams, CBC came out looking to avenge an earlier 3-1 loss to Bellevue in Bellevue. The Hawks took control early with a strong first set capitalizing on Bellevue miscues 25-22. The Bulldogs showed strong on the outside in set 2 but again CBC came back to erase a 5 point deficit winning in extra time 26-24.

Bellevue got hot midway through the 3rd set with a string of great serves that the Hawks were unable to break with giving frame to BC 25-16. Both teams battled their way through an exhausting 4th set trading leads back and forth but again Bellevue was able to score when it counted to put away Basin 25-21.

The 5th set never saw either team lead by more than 2 including 7 ties. CBC had match point in their sights but were unable to get a break off a deflected ball before Bellevue landed the final serve to seal the deal 17-15.

The loss drops CBC to 2-3 on the year but the young team will get plenty of chances to return to winning as they open up tournament play in the Coach G Memorial Invite Friday afternoon.
