Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Basin continues to roll; beat T-Wolves 90-54

Columbia Basin defeated Blue Mountain at home for their 5th win in a row 90-54. Trinidie Nichols lead all scorers with 20 points, 7 assists and 8 steals. Mickayla Robertson added 11 points and 7 rebounds off the bench in support.

Facing the threat of apathy in conference play, CBC continued to keep up their energy and do what they do on the defensive end. Blue Mountain came out with a good game plan keeping CBC in check for the first 5 minutes and trailing by 1. After the media timeout, Basin turned on the jets with their full court press and ran off a 11-0 run to finish the quarter ahead 20-7. The second quarter was much of the same as their strong team defense helped turn defense into offense. Nichols had 3 of her 8 steals in the second as she routinely found Kenzi Pedersen in transition. At half, Blue managed just 15 points while the Hawks sat with a commanding 42-15 lead.

Outside of half, CBC had 8 players score in the 29-point period with 15 points coming from the bench. The Timberwolves were able to break the press a handful of times but Basin was too much. The high scoring 4th was not enough as the Hawks again cruised to the 90-54 victory. The win bumps them to 5-0 in region play (14-2 overall). They will hit the road next week for games at Yakima Valley on Wednesday and Big Bend on Saturday.
