CBC continued their undefeated streak in conference downing the Vikings to move to 9-0 in region play. Big Bend played stellar defense in Set 1 as the Vikings were in control early up 10-5 before a CBC timeout. It would take the Hawks awhile to find their stride but a 6-1 and another 7-1 run allowed Basin to eventually come over the top for the 25-19 set win.
In Set 2, the Hawks got rolling early jumping ahead 20-10 and looking sharp before the Big Bend timeout. This time, it was Basin who allowed a 8-2 run mired with hitting errors and poor attacks that allowed the Vikings to climb back in it at 22-18.
Hi'ilei Fuqua put the finishing touches on the frame with 2 kills to end it at 25-20.
Both teams traded blows in Set 3 with neither team leading by more than 3. CBC struggled to put away the set as Big Bend used a 3-0 run to tie it up at 19-19 before a CBC timeout. From there, 3 hitting errors from the Vikings and 2 aces from
Kaylie Christopher allowed the Hawks to finally seal the deal at 25-19.
