Linn-Benton defeated Columbia Basin at home by score of 84-77.
Bobby Siebers lead the Hawks with 19 points while
Coleton Hansen added 12.
Fresh off a convincing win against Whatcom, CBC was in for a test as the high-scoring Linn-Benton Roadrunners were up for the challenge on Day 2. Both teams traded heavy baskets early with Siebers getting hot from deep but Linn-Benton was able to match him three for three. The Hawks were able to create some early turnovers with their stingy defense on their way to a 44-42 lead at the break.
In the second half, the pace of play seemed to speed up at times as the turnovers began to mount for the Hawks. They were unable to get the whistles they needed while the Roadrunners seemingly got every big call. With 7 minutes left, LB got behind the defense to tie the game up at the rim 64-64. CBC was unable to get some easy looks to fall around the rim as the deficit ran up to 5 points with a minute to go. A deep three for Linn-Benton put the game on ice with 47 seconds to go on their way to the 84-77 final.
CBC drops to 3-2 on the year but they will get a chance to rebound in Walla Walla for the Warrior Classic where they will face Bellevue on November 22nd at 4pm.
