Columbia Basin defeated Blue Mountain at home 3-0 and is now 1 game away from a perfect conference sweep.
Zuri Reeser lead all attackers with 16 kills while
Mia Carman had 13 digs in support.
CBC rolled through 3 sets against a Blue Mountain team still trying to find their form. The Hawks never trailed but put together a quality performance for sophomore night. They were ahead early and often in Set 1 as the defense was able to make some great saves that set up Reeser and
Kaylie Christopher on the pins. Both hitters each put one away for the 25-15 win.
In Set 2, Basin began to spread the wealth around as the middles began to get going. A few service errors allowed Blue to stay within striking distance but
Camille Collins and
Kambree Baker lead the Hawks on a 8-1 run at the midway as a dump from setter
Yajaira Meraz fell for the final point and the 25-17 win.
In the final set, the Hawks finished on a 10-1 run with kills from
Trinity Mayencourt, Reeser and Christopher as CBC settled in for the 25-10 final and the 3-0 win.Â
Basin moves to 24-3 on the year (13-0 East Region). They will finish up the regular season at Yakima Valley this Friday before gearing up to host the East Regional tournament on Holden Court. Game 1 of the regional tournament will begin at 10am on Saturday November 16th with the Hawks following at 1pm.
