Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Morgan's 22 powers Hawks over Chukars at home

Columbia Basin finished the first half of league play with a big win over Treasure Valley 83-47. Erin Morgan finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds while Trinidie Nichols added 19 points and 5 assists.

After a couple of postponements, CBC was finally able to take on Treasure Valley for the first matchup of the season. The vaunted CBC defense was in full effect early as the Chukars only managed 6 points in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Morgan and company went to work in the paint. The sophomore forward had her way on touches scoring 8 in the frame including her first 3-pointer of the year.

From there, Treasure was stifled all night on offense garnering only 18 points in the half. Nichols had no problem breaking their trapping zone with a few 3's of ther own and some transition buckets.

Outside of half, CBC continued to roll as Aniyah Heavens was able to work her magic off the drive for a few nifty spin-and-scores. Her 13 points in the second half helped extend the lead to as many as 40. The Chukars were able to score some buckets late to push the final score back to 83-47.

The win bumps CBC to 17-2 on the year (8-0 East Region) holding a steady 1-game lead over Walla Walla. They will travel to Spokane on Saturday for an afternoon tilt against the Bigfoot.
