Lane defeated Columbia Basin in the Final Four 71-59.
Aniyah Heavens lead the scoring for the Hawks in a losing effort with 15 while
Erin Morgan added 14 points and 9 rebounds.
In what could be argued as the championship before the championship, #1 CBC squared off with #2 Lane for a birth into the final day. Both teams came out with early buckets in the first but a late 3 pointer from Lane gave the Titans the 18-11 lead after just one quarter. In the second, it was CBC's turn to trade blows as both Heavens and
Lexie Heath were able to knock down big shots propelling Basin back into the lead. However, Lane would not be phased as they answered back with a few late shots to carry a 1 point lead into half at 33-32.
Outside of halftime, Basin was able to grind to a 4 point lead midway through the 3rd but it seemed as if no calls would land in favor of the Hawks who shot just 6 free throws compared to Lane's 23. The fourth quarter was even with 6 minutes to go but a barrage of Titan 3's suddenly found CBC down 10 points with 3 minutes to go. A small run late was not enough as CBC was handed their first NWAC loss at home by the 71-59 final.
A phenomenal season comes to an end prematurely as Lane moves on to the championship game where they will face Umpqua in an all-South championship game Sunday on Holden court at 4:45pm.
