Columbia Basin defeated Treasure Valley 4-0 staying undefeated in conference play.
Alejandra Sanchez,
Angelina Keister,
Kiarra Scheib and
Kendall Laugen all scored in the winning effort.
With their toughest week of the season on the horizon, Basin needed a win at home against the Chukars to take care of business heading into that week. Sanchez opened up the scoring for CBC with a deep look from
Shelby Geiger. An uncharacteristically slow half, the Hawks only mustered 3 shots on the frame heading into the break.
Outside of halftime, we saw the juice get turned on. Keister scored in the 66th minute from
Allie Draper, putting the game out of reach. The shots continued to pile up as Basin kept their foot on the gas. Scheib got on the board in the 75th minute inside the box for goal 3. It was
Kendall Laugen who put the cap on the day as
Julissa Caceres drove a turnover down the field before leaving it for Suarez who sent a beautiful cross to Laugen on the backside and then the back of the net.
The win moves CBC to 4-1 on the year (3-0 East Region). They will travel to surging #5 Walla Walla. They will return home on Saturday to face Spokane in their first match since the 2023 Championship game.
