Columbia Basin entered Friday night's home match eager to challenge one of the NWAC's top programs, but the Hawks ultimately fell in straight sets to Treasure Valley. Despite the 3–0 final, the Hawks showed flashes of grit and energy that kept the crowd engaged and demonstrated their potential moving forward.
In the opening set, Columbia Basin traded points early, with kills from Kennedy Ochoa and Eva Biladeau helping the Hawks stay within striking distance. Addisen Ford added a strong block and a couple of timely swings, but a late run from the Chukars widened the gap.
The second frame was the toughest stretch of the night. Treasure Valley's pressure at the net and aggressive serving put the Hawks on their heels, forcing errors and limiting their offensive rhythm. Still, Marissa Duncan provided steady setting and Auddy Gray anchored the back row with a match-high 13 digs.
Columbia Basin responded with renewed fight in the third, highlighted by Ford's service ace and Ochoa's late kill. Biladeau contributed 15 digs to spark the defense, while Paisley Miller chipped in three kills and solid backcourt coverage. The Hawks battled point-for-point midway through the set before Treasure Valley closed on a late push.
Though the result wasn't in their favor, the Hawks' resilience and defensive hustle were clear. Columbia Basin will get a chance to rebound on the road against Yakima Valley this Wednesday at 6pm.
