Hawks erase halftime deficit to edge Titans at home 65-63

Columbia Basin earned a 65–63 victory over Lane by producing steady scoring across both halves and generating 20 points off turnovers. The Hawks opened the first half with 33 points, responding to Lane's early three-point shooting with balanced inside scoring and key defensive stops. After falling behind 9–2, Basin cut the deficit with a three from Alex Wells at 17:08 and another from Cade Washington at 15:47. The team took its first lead at 14:39 when Levi Pepper converted two free throws to make it 13–10.

Columbia Basin continued to counter Lane's perimeter shooting by scoring in the paint. Kaden Bethel tied the game at 13–13 with a layup at 09:44, and Zander Kamai scored in transition at 09:27 to put the team ahead 16–13. Pepper added a jumper at 13:58 and finished the half with eight points, six rebounds, two blocks, and two assists. CBC entered halftime trailing 41–33 after Lane closed the period with nine made threes.

In the second half, Basin opened with increased defensive pressure. Zadkiel Rodarte scored 10 second-half points on 4-for-4 shooting, including a three-pointer that cut the margin to 46–42. Bethel added nine points in the half, reaching 13 total while finishing with seven rebounds and a block. Pepper continued to contribute on the boards, securing 11 rebounds in 32 minutes.

A key sequence occurred with under eight minutes remaining, when the Hawks forced consecutive turnovers and converted them into five straight points from Rodarte. Washington added a steal with 4:30 left, leading to a Pepper layup that brought the score to 61–59. Columbia Basin took its largest second-half lead of 65–57 at the 7:17 mark before holding off Lane's final push.

Columbia Basin finished shooting 42.1 percent from the field, 5-for-15 from three, and 12-for-20 at the line while recording 14 assists and eight steals in the win. They will head to Walla Walla to open the Warrior Classic against Bellevue at 4pm.
