Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Pepper's 22 paces Hawks over Penguins at home

Columbia Basin earned an 82–68 win over Clark by maintaining steady control through both halves and relying on consistent interior scoring and rebounding. The home team opened the game with a balanced approach, trading baskets in the early minutes before gradually finding rhythm inside. Columbia Basin scored 40 points in the first half, benefiting from strong activity on the offensive glass, where they collected nine first-half offensive rebounds to extend possessions. Despite Clark holding an early 11-point advantage, Columbia Basin responded with a 20–6 run late in the period, using contributions from multiple starters to take a 40–32 lead into halftime.

Early in the second half, Columbia Basin continued to create separation through efficient shooting and second-chance production. The group converted effectively at the rim and maintained a rebounding advantage that allowed them to slow Clark's momentum whenever the visitors trimmed the margin. A series of inside baskets from Kaden Bethel and Zander Kamai helped push the lead into double digits, while Levi Pepper added perimeter scoring and timely defensive rebounds.

Columbia Basin generated 42 points in the second half and built its largest lead of 16 with under three minutes remaining. The team committed only six turnovers and recorded 21 offensive rebounds, which contributed significantly to their 14 second-chance points. On the defensive end, Columbia Basin limited Clark to four made three-pointers and forced nine turnovers, preventing extended scoring runs.

Pepper led Columbia Basin with 22 points, shooting 9-for-15 from the field, while Bethel finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Kamai added 15 points, and Rodarte totaled 12 points and five assists. The win brought Columbia Basin back at .500 at 4–4, while the balanced scoring and possession control allowed them to manage the game flow from late in the first half through the final minutes.
