Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball improves to 6-0 with race of Shoreline at home

Columbia Basin controlled the game from the opening tip and sustained that momentum throughout a 95–36 win over Shoreline. The Hawks established their tempo immediately, scoring 38 first-quarter points while holding Shoreline to just four. Their early success came from consistent pressure on both ends of the floor, forcing turnovers and converting them into points. Columbia Basin totaled 15 steals and turned 28 Shoreline turnovers into 37 points, setting the tone for a largely one-sided contest.

In the second quarter, Columbia Basin rotated deeper into its bench without losing efficiency. The home team added 17 points in the period, maintaining a comfortable margin as multiple players contributed offensively. By halftime, the Hawks had already built a sizeable lead behind 53% shooting from the field and strong interior play, finishing the game with 56 points in the paint. Shoreline showed some improvement in the second quarter with 10 points, but continued to struggle with ball control and shot creation.

Shoreline's best stretch came in the third quarter, where they posted 17 points and shot efficiently within the quarter's flow. Taira Samiano led that surge, scoring 10 of her 15 points during the frame. However, Columbia Basin remained steady, matching Shoreline's output with a 20-point third quarter of its own. Ball movement continued to be a major factor as Columbia Basin logged 27 assists on 39 made field goals, sustaining balance across its lineup.

The fourth quarter followed the same pattern, with Columbia Basin adding another 20 points and extending the lead to its largest margin—59 points in the final minute. The Hawks' bench provided 41 points overall, reflecting the team's depth and consistent production. Shoreline was limited to five points in the final period as Columbia Basin closed out the game efficiently on both ends.

The Hawks will head to Edmonds for a 3-game Crossover tournament against Edmonds, Highline and they will also take on undefeated Clackamas starting next weekend.
