Columbia Basin defeated Yakima Valley at home to move one game closer to the NWAC Championships.
Ezrah Ray had 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead CBC in the 76-46 final.
With a win and a Spokane loss, CBC would take control of their own playoff destiny as they took the home court on Wednesday for their final home game of the year. The Hawks wasted no time, laying on a press and jumping out to a 17-2 lead. On offense,
Sadie Tanner and
Analyssa Maldonado controlled the game with stellar passing and drives to the bucket.Â
Amia Ibarra made a huge contribution off the bench with quality minutes on both sides of the ball scoring a season high 8 points. The lead ballooned to as many as 36 midway through the second half as 8 different Hawks logged 10+ minutes in the team effort. Maldonado's 4 steals helped stave off any sort of run attempted by the Yaks.
With the 30 point win and the Spokane loss in Moses Lake, CBC will need just one more win to clinch a playoff birth with games left against Walla Walla, Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley. They will begin the roadtrip in Walla Walla on Saturday before heading to Pendleton the following week.
