Columbia Basin defeated Grays Harbor in a pair of rainy games by scores of 11-2 and 16-2.
Dylan Schlenger and
Jase Schuler recorded wins for the Hawks in a dominant day.
GAME 1
CBC continued its big hitting weekend while starter
Dylan Schlenger worked around a couple of 1st inning hits to hold the Chokers to just one run in his 5 innings of work. 7 different hitters recorded a hit in the game lead by the 2 hits of
Caleb Eisenhower.Â
CBC scored 3 in the first to take a commanding lead. Taking advantage of walks and errors, Basin scored 5 runs in the 4th around an
Elliott Taylor double to jump ahead 9-1. They tacked on one in the 7th and 8th as Aiden Berrios and
Branson Rozier pitched the final 4 innings. Rozier struck out 5 of his 10 hitters faced for the 11-2 final.
GAME 2
As the rain started to come down,
Jase Schuler took the ball in the rain to try and finish off the weekend. It wouldn't take long for run support as the offense scored 7 runs in the first capitalized by a 2-rbi single from
Braiden Bond. Taylor doubled off the wall in left to lead off the 3rd in another crooked inning give Schuler a 11-1 lead.
It was Taylor again in the 5th with another 2-RBI single to push the lead to 15-1. Schuler finished his 4 innings of work allowing just 2 hits and 1 one.
Ben Lake and
Dezmon Ralls worked through the middle innings before giving way to
James Lawrence in the 7th. The hard-throwing righty put away the Chokers in order for the 16-2 final.
CBC moves to 4-0 to start the season. They will host Wenatchee Valley and Walla Walla for a pair of non-league double-headers starting on Saturday March 1st.Â
