Columbia Basin defeated Treasure Valley at home by scores of 7-5 and 12-8.
Lauryn Krick and
Peighton Fuhriman picked up wins in the effort.
GAME 1
Treasure Valley came out early with a 3-1 lead after 3 innings but Basin was able to chace it back with a big 5-run 5th inning punctuated by a 3-run homer from
Leia Duropan and another solo homer from
Halli Lott. Krick did her best to scatter 13 hits from the Chukars for just 5 runs including 2 runs in the 7th while striking out 6.
GAME 2
A high-scoring affair in Game 2 had CBC up 11-4 after 2 innings. Duropan plated 2 in the first inning with a double while
Vivian Pimentel had a 3-RBI double to left-center as part of a 7-run second inning. Starter
Peighton Fuhriman battled through a challenge from the Chukars who cut the lead to 11-8 with a 5th inning home run.Â
Amarie Guzman came in to relieve Fuhriman and worked 2.2 innings of shutout work.
Bree Waldron hit a sac fly in the 5th to bring home
Kenadie Goudette for an insurance run as Guzman closed the door in the 7th while getting out of a jam for the 12-8 final.
