Columbia Basin put on a commanding performance Saturday afternoon, storming past Treasure Valley with a 9–0 victory to remain unbeaten on the season. The Hawks struck early and never looked back, displaying sharp attacking play and relentless pressure that overwhelmed the visitors from start to finish.
The scoring opened in the 12th minute when Alan Castro headed home the first goal, assisted by Rudy Silva. Moments later, Alfredo Jimenez doubled the advantage with a well-placed finish. David Ochoa extended the lead in the 20th minute, finishing off a clever setup from Alex Martinez. Columbia Basin continued to press, and Martinez found the back of the net himself in the 29th minute before assisting Angel Castillo's strike just before halftime to make it 5–0 at the break.
The Hawks showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Jorge Perez capped off a fine team move in the 56th minute, with freshman Jayson Castillo notching the assist. Ten minutes later, Marco Almazan added his name to the scoresheet, finishing a feed from Damon Landaverde. Jimenez struck again in the 82nd minute, with Jayden Barajas providing the helper, before Silva closed the scoring in the 84th with his first goal of the day.
The defensive unit and goalkeeping tandem of Caleb Coronel and Andres Campos combined for the shutout, limiting Treasure Valley to zero shots on target. Columbia Basin outshot the Chukars 36–0, dominating possession and converting efficiently in front of goal.
With the win, Columbia Basin improves to 6–0 overall and 2–0 in NWAC play, solidifying their spot among the conference's elite. The Hawks will look to carry their momentum into next week's matchup as they continue their push for a perfect start to the season.
