Adrian Ochoa enters his tenth season with CBC, returning for a second season as an assistant coach after spending seven years at the helm. Ochoa takes responsibility for coaching the Hawks in all aspects of the game. He arrived at CBC with five years of college-level coaching experience. In his seven seasons at the helm, CBC qualified for the NWAC Championships four times, leading CBC to a 5th place tournament finish in 2015.
Ochoa spent three seasons as the Head Coach of Queens University of Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2006, his team claimed the school's first ever conference regular season and conference tournament titles, earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament. As a result, Coach Ochoa was awarded the Carolina-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) Coach of the Year. Coach Ochoa also spent a season as the Interim Head Coach at Queens, helping lead the team to a 3rd place CVAC finish. While at Queens, Ochoa coached nine players to All-CVAC awards, one CVAC Player of the Year, and two players to South Atlantic All Region awards.
Prior to Queens, Ochoa spent the 2001-2002 season as the Co-Head Coach at Big Bend Community College. During that season, the Vikings finished fifth at the NWAC Championships.
Coach Ochoa has 22 years of experience coaching travel teams, most recently assisting former CBC coach Kelly Richards with the USA Explosion. Prior to his stint as an assistant, Ochoa led the Washington Ladyhawks-Gold to back-to-back ASA Gold Nationals appearances. While coaching at Queens, Ochoa led the18U Carolina Legacy-Gold to Nationals, a first for any team from the state of North Carolina. During his years coaching travel teams, he has coached many players moving on to play at all NCAA levels.
