Montessa Califano enters her eighth year as head softball coach at CBC.
2025 was CBC's best year to date with a 45-4 year. The Hawks just missed a championship game appearance finishing in 3rd place at NWAC's. Califano's team featured a blistering offense that went undefeated in East Region play behind pitcher Lauryn Krick who earned NWAC Player of the Year honors.
Califano was a standout softball player at Pacific Lutheran University, winning the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2012, while being named to the All-Tournament Team. She earned First Team All-Conference honors her junior and senior years, and Second Team honors her sophomore year. In 2013, she was named Female Athlete of the Year at PLU.
Califano spent two seasons as the assistant coach at PLU after graduating. She most recently served as head coach at Northwest University in the NAIA.
Since 2011, Califano has also been coaching competitive softball for the Xpress and Blaze organizations at the 14u/16u/18u age groups.
