Omar Anderson

Omar Anderson enters his eighth season at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Columbia Basin College.

Another dominate year for CBC lead to back-to-back East Region titles and another Final Four appearance. Anderson's team finished the year 15-2-1 with 8 shutouts. He was awarded the East Region Coach of the Year award and coached the East Region MVP- Ana Andrade. He now owns a career record of 74-36-24.

Alongside his tenure at CBC, Anderson is also the Youth Girls Director of Coaching for Three Rivers Soccer Club. He also coaches for G07 and G03 teams while holding EDP membership for the past 4 years. He currently coaches for the EPD cycle in Arizona with G06.

Coach Anderson was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. After emigrating to the U.S, he and his twin brother lived in Anchorage, Alaska.  He played for East Anchorage High school where he was recognized as MVP and won the state tournament.

Omar attended Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington, to engage his lifelong passion for collegiate soccer. He started in the #9 role for two years, garnering a West Division title and a Final Four finish. Eventually he decided that playing, watching, and thinking about soccer didn’t feed his mania for the sport to the proper extent. He became the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer program at Peninsula College. In his role as assistant coach, he helped contribute to five NWAC championships and seven West Division titles between the men’s and women’s programs combined. In the winter of 2015, he was named Interim Head Men’s Soccer Coach for the Peninsula College Pirates. He is the first coach in Peninsula’s history to have played and then moved through the ranks to coach.

Once deciding to take the helm at CBC, Coach Anderson played his final role as an assistant coach at Southern Oregon University, where he helped to build the foundation for the first ever Raider Men’s Soccer program. Omar has worked with both men’s and women’s student athletes from Europe, Africa, Australia, South America, Tasmania, and now here in North America.

When not involved in all things soccer, Coach Anderson indulges in his other passion in life: traveling, hiking and spending time with family.
