Wenatchee Valley downed Columbia Basin in East Region play for their first loss at home on the season.
Carson Cloaninger lead Basin with 16 points while
Tyler Kurtz added 9.
For the fourth straight game, CBC was hampered by COVID-19 protocols as both
Garrett Streufert and
Jase Edwards were not in action against the Knights. A poor shooting night proved costly in the loss and no Hawk could seem to sink much, especially in the first half. While only committing 4 turnovers, the outside shooters could only connect on 1 of 11 from deep in the First half.
Cloaninger's 12 second half points was not enough as the defense struggled to settle in most of the game. The Hawks were able to find a few more looks in the Second but there would be no comeback on the night as they dropped their first game at home on the season. Despite the loss, CBC is 3-3 in the East and very much in playoff contention. They will get a second look at a Blue Mountain this Saturday in a rematch of their earlier loss on the road to the Timberwolves.Â
