Columbia Basin defeated Walla Walla 3-0 for their second win of the season over the Warriors.
Caydence Taylor lead all hitters with 15 kills.
Yajaira Meraz and
Brooklyn Cagle combined for 36 assists in the effort.
In a much needed game, Columbia Basin showed up and dominated. Both Taylor and
Kaylie Christopher were hot early in the 1st set combining for 6 kills helping Basin race out to a 17-7 lead. Some Warrior attack errors helped close out the frame at 25-12 in favor of CBC.
Taylor had her biggest set in the second frame helping Basin go on a 12-2 run midway through with some great defense allowing the hitters to get good looks. A final kill from
Zuri Reeser sealed it off at 25-15 giving the Hawks a familiar 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd.
Walla Walla gave the Hawks a good run for most of the 3rd set tying it up at 12-12. Despite the early set struggles, Basin was able to get some momentum with a 7-1 helping propel them to the eventual 25-18 win giving them their first home sweep of the season.
With the win, they move back to 4-4 in East Region play and move back into the playoff picture ahead of Treasure Valley. They will get a chance at retribution against Wenatchee Valley at home this Friday with first whisle scheduled for 6pm.
