Columbia Basin defeated Blue Mountain at home 4-0 netting
Jayauna Keister her league leading 11th shutout of the year. Sister
Angelina Keister and
Violet Duran each scored and assisted on goals to lead the way.
Basin got in the board early in the 8th minute off a great run by Emma Haertlng on the right wing to set up Keister with the opening goal of the match. The Hawks had a goal wiped off just before the goal again spurred by the aggressive play of Haertling on the front line. CBC was turned away 9 more times in the period on a few shots that were deflected by quality saves.
Outside of half, CBC was able to convert early lead by
Janelly Verduzco from Duran's free kick. Duran was able to get on the board herself shortly after with a rebounded shot off the foot of Keister. Freshman
Satori Zimmerman scored the final goal of the day from a
Sierra Larios corner kick for the Hawks who put up 33 shots to just 5 from Blue Mountain.
Basin will head to Ontario to take on Treasure Valley before returning home for a showdown against division rival Spokane in what will likely be the deciding game in the quest for a region championship.
