Columbia Basin defeated Clackamas 83-65 to finish out the December Invite.
Jayden Martinez lead the way for CBC with 22 points and 4 assists.
Ta'Veus Randle added 18 points and 11 rebounds in support.
A much better offensive performance for the Hawks as they were able to dominate from start to finish against Clackamas. Martinez was hot early in the first half scoring 12 of his 22 including 2 early 3's.
Latrell Barker was active inside as he controlled the paint and scored with ease. Basin was able to move the ball with purpose as guards were able to get into the paint and create for each other. The 41 points in the half was good for a 19 point lead which would be more than enough for the night.
Outside of the break, the Hawks threw on their 1-2-2 press that was able to get a couple of transition looks to immediately wipe out a 6-0 run by the Cougars. Erik Woods scored 10 off the bench in the second half including 2 of 3 from deep. Basin lead by as many as 32 late into the half as they spread around the minutes with 7 different players logging 10+ minutes. Martinez scored 10 at the rim off the drive to help seal the deal with a smooth ending.
The win improves Basin to 6-3 on the year heading into the CBC-hosted Crossover at home. They will take on Everett to open up action on Thursday at 7pm.
