Yakima Valley defeated Columbia Basin 3-2 in Pasco.
Zuri Reeser lead all attackers with 17 kills while
Caydence Taylor added 15 in the losing effort.
CBC traded sets with Yakima before ultimately dropping the 5th set in close fashion. Basin got behind early in Set 1 but was ultimately able to make the comeback for the 26-24 win. Set 2 featured a lot of attack errors and the breaks going in favor of Yaks who turned in a clean set to tie it up.
Sets 3 and 4 saw both teams trading blows back and forth with CBC taking the 3rd by score of 25-21 and the Yaks taking the 4th by the same score. Attack errors began to mount for the Hawks who swung just .059 by the end of the match. They were ahead in the 4th set 19-15 but a bad serve rotation allowed the Yaks back into the set sending it to 5.
A great 5th set featured both teams trading impressive kills but a 4-1 run allowed Yakima to pull away for the 15-11 final and the match to go with it.
CBC drops to 11-7 on the year (3-2 East Region). They will get a bye on Friday before returning to the home court to take on North Idaho at 6pm.
