Columbia Basin defeated Spokane 106-49 at home for their second straight region win. Six players finished with 10 or more lead by
Trinidie Nichols' triple-double.
After having their first road game postponed in Ontario, CBC looked fresh and energized against a streaky Bigfoot team. Spokane tried to press early but it was Basin's press that gave Spokane fits. Basin raced out to an early 21-2 lead off a12-0 run to start the game. From there, it was all business on both ends. CBC was able to spread the minutes and the points around as they scored 59 points in the first half with a 34-point lead heading into the break.Â
The Hawks backed off the full court press in the second half but kept the pressure up in the front court. Spokane committed 31 turnovers on the night while CBC shot 47% from the field including 12 of 27 from deep. No Basin player played less than 16 minutes as they put on a clinic.
Lexie Heath's late 4th quarter 3 unlocked the free Tacos for the Hawks who would finally finish with 106 at the final minute.Â
Nichols finished with 23 points to go along with 12 assists and 10 steals for her first triple-double of the season.
Erin Morgan posted another double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds leading the charge in the paint. CBC will attempt to travel to Treasure Valley again on Wednesday the 17th to make up the previously postponed game. Tipoff slated for 5/7pm MDT.
