Columbia Basin defeated Blue Mountain 4-0 in region play.
Alex Martinez lead the way for the Hawks with a goal and an assist.
Rafael Lucio,
Bryan Martinez and
Humberto Cervantes each added goals of their own.
CBC opened up their home region schedule on Wednesday against the Timberwolves but were held scoreless in the first half. Blue Mountain was able to make some saves to keep the Hawks off the board but CBC was not short on attempts. Defender
Alan Castro had two headers turned away by defensive saves from the BM defense. Basin outshot the T-wolves 16-3 in the half but with nothing to show.
Coming out of half, Blue increasingly began to see some life in their play but it was cut short in the 53rd minute as Lucio was able to get CBC on the board with the first goal, from Martinez. From there, the Hawks were able to get downhill in a hurry as
Bryan Martinez and Cervantes went back-to-back in the 72nd and 75th minute which would be more than enough.
Alex Martinez added one more for good measure on a long unassisted shot from deep on the left side to seal the deal.
CBC moves to 2-0 in the East (6-0 overall). They will turn back around on Saturday to host Treasure Valley as they begin their drive to make it back to the NWAC Championships. Kickoff scheduled for 12pm on CBC Field.
