Columbia Basin delivered a commanding performance at home Friday night, sweeping Big Bend 25–16, 25–16, 25–20 to improve to 11–11 overall and 5–5 in conference play. The Hawks' offense found its rhythm early and never looked back, showing poise and precision on both sides of the net.
Adalei Lefebvre set the tone with a dominant outing, tallying 13 kills on .391 hitting while leading the charge at key moments in each set. Addisen Ford added 9 kills and a team-high .421 hitting percentage, while Paisley Miller chipped in 9 kills of her own, showcasing consistent production from the outside. Setter Aubrey Bisenius orchestrated the offense efficiently with 21 assists and two service aces, keeping the Vikings off balance all evening.
Defensively, Columbia Basin's back row was rock solid, anchored by Eva Biladeau's 18 digs and libero Katy Ball's 16. Their steady passing and relentless coverage helped the Hawks transition quickly into attack, limiting Big Bend's scoring runs and neutralizing their front line. Kennedy Ochoa also contributed defensively at the net with two blocks.
The Hawks took control midway through the first set and never trailed again, closing it out on a Lefebvre kill. The second frame saw Columbia Basin surge ahead on a 10–2 run fueled by Ford and Miller's kills. Big Bend made a push in the third, tying the set at 14–14, but timely serving from Bisenius and clutch swings from Lefebvre sealed the sweep.
With the straight-set victory, Columbia Basin continues to build late-season momentum heading into the final stretch of NWAC play. They will next take on Spokane at home Wednesday October 29th at 6pm.
