Wenatchee Valley defeated Columbia Basin in Pasco 82-66.
Coleton Hansen lead the Hawks with 25 points in an uncharacteristically poor shooting night for CBC.
Every team is dangerous and Wenatchee Valley proved it as the Knights came to play in Pasco. Despite the many good looks at the rim and in the half court, the Hawks seemed unable to find the bottom of the tin. WVC was hot early from deep as a handful of 3-pointers gave them an early lead that forced CBC to play uphill the rest of the game.
In the second half, Basin began to see a few shots go down but just as it seemed they were poised to make a run, the Knights would answer back in transition to keep CBC at bay. A
Caeden Barrett jumper cut the lead down to 14 with 4 minutes to go but Basin was unable to get enough stops to get it inside of 10 points. Hansen scored 21 of his 25 in the period on the way to 49 second-half points for CBC but it was Wenatchee Valley that backed into the 82-66 final.
CBC drops to 5-5 in region play, tied with Treasure Valley for the 3-seed. They will need to right the ship against Yakima Valley at home on Wednesday to keep in contention for that 3-seed starting at 7pm.
