Columbia Basin defeated Wenatchee Valley 75-36.
Sadie Tanner had a huge night was 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals to lead the Hawks.
Ezrah Ray dominated the paint with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
In control of their own playoff destiny, the Hawks looked to keep rolling in the second half of league against Wenatchee. A rocky start allowed the Knights to hang around as
Amber Swan picked up her second foul early on a call that saw the CBC bench get very animated in opposition. But
Sadie Tanner's active play helped CBC begin to lean on Wenatchee who was unable to protect the rim. Once trailing 10-9, Ray's layup put them back ahead where they would not look back.
A big offensive second quarter helped propel the lead all the way up to 19 points going into the break. Ray scored 10 of her 23 in the second period to put some distance between Basin and WVC. Looking to make a point to start the third quarter after a rough one against Big Bend, the Hawk defense held Wenatchee to just 2 points in the quarter. Tanner was perfect from the field in the third while
Analyssa Maldonado dished out 3 assists.
All 9 Hawks saw even minutes in the fourth quarter with Tanner grabbing 3 steals and dropping another 6 points to help Basin back into the 75-36 final.
CBC improves to 5-5 in region play now holding a game and a half lead over Spokane for the final playoff spot in the East. They will hosts Yakima Valley in their final home game on Wednesday Feb 19th at 5pm.
