Columbia Basin fell at home to Walla Walla by scores of 19-2 and 14-4. Despite the losses, the Hawks remain firmly in the 9-seed for the 12 team playoff.
GAME 1
A rough go of it for CBC on the day, the lone bright spot was
Adrianna Steele who finished the day 5-6 at the plate including a 2-3 game in this one. Steele's double in the bottom of the first could not quite plate a run as the throw from left field was just in time to nail the runner at home. Steele would score herself on a
Rylee Miller RBI single to make it 3-1.
The Warriors were hot at the plate throughout the line score but
Hailey Rasmussen singled in Steele for the second run of the game but again, not enough as the Warriors took Game 1.
GAME 2
Steele was hot again in Game 2, going 3-3 at the plate including another extra base hit. In the bottom of the first, Basin took a 1-0 lead on another RBI single from Miller. Steele's double brought home 2 in the bottom of the second for a 3-2 lead but from there, Walla Walla took control.
Hannah Robertson blasted a solo shot to center in the bottom of the 7th but no other rally would stir up as the Warriors would hold on and complete Game 2 for their second win on the day.
CBC will get a chance to avenge a couple losses to Wenatchee as the Knights come to town on Friday for a double-header before CBC finishes out the regular season on Sophomore day against Yakima Valley on Saturday. (Ceremony following the conclusion of Game 2).
