CBC climbed out ahead early in the first half behind their streaky 3-point shooting. Five different Hawks all landed at least 1 shot from deep, lead by Cloaninger's 4-4. Both Brantley and sophomore point guard
Ryan Wolf were able to make 2 a piece in the effort. The team shot 10-20 from deep in the first half to the tune of a 49-39 lead. Chris Butcher poured in 11 for Blue Mountain on the period who was only able to convert 2 shots from 3-point range.
In the second half, Blue Mountain went inside to their Bigs as a 10-point CBC lead dwindled to just 1 at the 4 minute mark 67-66. Blue Mountain guard Josh Wilson scored 13 off the bench for the Timberwolves who were just one shot shy of taking the lead.
Both Cloaninger and Wolf were able to connect from deep to help push the game out of reach for good. Some late free throw woes by CBC left the door open but Cloaninger drained 6 free throws in the final minute to close it out.
CBC shot 48% on the night from the floor including 15-34 from deep. Edwards' club improves their record to 1-1 in league (6-8 on the year). They will travel with the women to Big Bend on Wednesday the 8th to try and continue their hot shooting.
