Box Score FINAL SCORE: Columbia Basin 79 Wenatchee Valley 91
Another sore night for outside shooting, Coach Edwards team lived in the paint for easy buckets.
Denzel Brantley scored 21 points for Basin as
Carson Cloaninger had 13 of his own.
Despite Wenatchee's length, the Hawks were able to successfully navigate the lane early and often as both teams kept pace with each other. Basin shot 50% from the floor in the first half lead by
Ryan Wolf's 9 points. Both CBC and WVC only converted 3 attempts from deep leading to a 5 point Knight lead at half.
The second half featured 14 of Brantley's 21. Foul trouble sat
Grayson Nelson down for long periods during that game and lead to 23 free throw attempts for Wenatchee in the half.
With 3 minutes to go, Cloaninger connected on a contested 3-pointer to cut the lead to 6. Wenatchee Valley guard Malik Parsons converted a bucket with the foul to push it back to 9 where the Knights would not look back. A couple minutes of free throw exchanging wasn't kind to CBC as Wenatchee settled in for a 12 point victory. CBC finished 8-30 from 3-point range.
The loss moves their league record to 2-9 with 5 games to play. They will try again next Wednesday against a strong Spokane team. Women will start at 5:30 and men will begin at 7:30.
