RL Wins Both Games Week 6, Valorant and Overwatch 2 Undefeated Going Into Last Week of Regular Season

CBC Rocket League had all smiles through both series against Eastern Wyoming College and Lake Area Technical College- Red. The Hawks had London "PremiereBump" Thiladeth, Brigham "brigamortis1881" Stromberg, and Moaiad "starz" Eljack starting against EWC. It was a quick contest with CBC taking the 3-0 sweep, with final scores being 14-0, 14-0, and 10-0. Going into the second game of the night, Miguel "leaf" Jinez game in for the Hawks for Eljack. Thiladeth, Stromberg, and Jinez also pulled off the quick 3-0 series win over LATC – Red, with final scores being 7-2, 6-2, and 4-1. CBC RL will be rematching North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) and Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), as they look to win both games and secure the West Region champion title and #1 seed going into regional playoffs.

CBC Overwatch 2 matched up against Brookdale Community College and Northeast Iowa Community College this week. Both Brookdale and Columbia Basin went into week 6 as 2 of the last 3 undefeated teams, so this was a key game to secure at least a top 2 finish in the regular season. Map 1 started off on "Oasis" for this week's control map. Brookdale struck first by winning the first team fight and gaining control of the point for 68% before the Hawks took control. With 80% progress and Brookdale was looking to swing the point back in their favor, but the DPS for CBC, Skylar "skitsu" Phanekham and Damon "DooMination" Martinez, were able to clutch the team fight with Skylar picking up 3 of Brookdale's players and Damon picking up the last 2. The swing helped lead CBC to winning point 1. Point 2 of Oasis started off the same with Brookdale picking up the first team fight. CBC was able to regain control quickly, only giving up 36% of progress. A quick dragon blade ultimate play by Martinez to secure 2 elimination and a counter kitsune rush ultimate by Cade "Alyxian" Horn led to continuous momentum to getting 99% progress before flipping the point to Brookdale. With great space taken by Lucas "BAAAAABAAAAA" Grenier, CBC were able to secure first map, taking a 1-0 series lead. Map 2 brought both teams to "Eichenwalde" for the Hybrid game mode. With a sneaky play by Remix on the side of Brookdale, they quickly rolled onto the point to capture it after first team fight, giving them 6 minutes to push it to the next point. CBC defense held strong for 4 minutes until Brookdale finally made progress to the bridge right before the second point. A quick regroup had CBC holding Brookdale at the bridge, just before the point, and then the constant staggering picks from both Skylar and Damon had CBC chip all the way through Brookdale's time bank. On attack, it took 3 of 4 minutes for CBC to take first point and begin their progress. CBC took the cart progress all the way right in front of the progress Brookdale made before losing a team fight and forcing a reset. The next team fight CBC swept all of Brookdale away and finished map 2, taking a 2-0 series lead. Moving onto Circuit Royal, CBC struggled on the defensive side, giving up full progress to Brookdale with 3:13 left in their timebank. Though it took all of CBC time, the Hawks were able to force an overtime push for both teams. However, CBC was not able to make enough progress to withstand Brookdale on map 3, with Brookdale finding their first point in the series 2-1. The Hawks were looking to close out the series on Push, taking them to "Colosseo" for map 4. It was back-and-forth progress for both teams until the 6-minute mark, where CBC took the lead in progress and was able to never give up 2 full team-fights to allow Brookdale to regain the lead. With a minute left to play, Brookdale found 3 quick eliminations to take control of the robot, but another big play from Martinez, picking up 3 eliminations and Skylar finding a 4th, bought their team time to regroup for the final team fight and secure the map 4 win and 3-1 series win, staying undefeated. CBC also picked up a quick 3-0 win over Northeast Iowa Community College on Friday. CBC look to match up against Bryant & Stratton VA on Wednesday, the last undefeated team in the season, to battle it out for the 1st seed going into regional playoffs the following week.

CBC Valorant went up against Arizona Western College in week 6 play of the NJCAAE Fall season. As the last undefeated team in the West region, the Hawks were confidant to keep that title and record. For map 1, "Sunset," CBC stumbled out the gate losing both round 1 and 2, before picking up their first round point in round 3. The next 3 rounds, CBC was able to tie it at 3-3, before obtaining their first lead of the map with round 7 going in their favor. CBC went on a run, going up 6-3 and forcing AWC to use their timeout. CBC was able to close out their defense with a score of 8-4 before switching to their attack rounds. This time, CBC found the win on their pistol round and bonus, giving them a 10-5 lead, after losing their 3rd round on attack. The Hawks gave up 3 rounds in a row before taking a timeout to regroup with a 10-8 lead. The timeout was just want the Hawks needed with picking up the next round, going up 11-8, and then Roberto "pcuv" Rolon picking up 4 eliminations the next. AWC fought back with the next 2, making it 12-10. With Jesus "Telekit" Armenta left in a 1vs3 situation, Jesus was able to win the fight and clutch the round and map win 13-10. Going into map 2 "Haven," It was a different story with the Hawks sweeping the entire map 13-0, winning the series 2-0. CBC Valorant match up against Northeast Oklahoma (NEO) next week to play for the West region title and 1st seed going into regional playoffs.
