The Hawks were able to hold on and secure a 3-2 series victory and advance. Falling to #3 Iowa Western Community College in semifinals, CBC had to battle back in loser's round 2 to achieve a National Playoff spot. With the series tied at 1-1, CBC continued to show energy and teamwork, with a close match going the Hawks' way and winning map 3, taking a 2-1 map advantage and forcing a game point situation on map 4. The situation went in the favor of CBC, with Columbia Basin winning map 4 and the series 3-1. CBC will be the #1 seed from the West Region going into National Playoffs.
