Esports Conclude Spring Season with National Finishes

CBC Esports Teams wrapped up the NJCAAE Spring 2026 Season last week. With all teams making it to the National stage, this marked another successful season for the Hawks.

Tekken 8 player, Andres "Puncakes" Uribe, met #2 Salt Lake Community College "Eyeswideshut" in round 1. A close match between both players ensued, with a nailbiter round one and CBC coming out on top and winning the series 3-2. In winner's finals against #1 Lake Sumter State College, another close 5-game series concluded with CBC falling short, 2-3. Week 2 brought a rematch against #2 SLCC again, but CBC Uribe was unable to make his way up to the National Championship with a loss 1-3. With the loss, Tekken 8 finished third (3rd) Nationally in the NJCAAE Division 1 Playoffs in their inaugural season!

Rocket League entered NJCAAE National Playoffs as the #8 seed, facing off against #1 Daytona State College. Game 1 for the Hawks was rough, as the team struggled to find their tempo. Even though the series resulted in a 0-3 defeat for the Hawks, game 2 and 3 CBC were able to fight in close games with only a 1-goal difference. CBC then matched up against #5 Brookdale Community College in loser's round 1. After an unfortunate loss in round 1, CBC struggled against Brookdale and ultimately lost 2-3 in the series. CBC Rocket League finished 7th-8th Nationally in the NJCAAE, marking their 4th season in a row with an appearance and finish in National Playoffs.

Overwatch entered the National Playoffs for the NJCAAE as the West Region Champion and a round 1 bye. Going into round 2, CBC faced off against #5 Pratt Community College. CBC Hawks showed up in dominance as a number 1 seed, with a quick victory on map 1 with a swift 2-0 map win. Map 2 and 3 were all sided towards CBC, with the Hawks cruising through round 2 quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory. Semifinals, the Hawks faced off against #1 Bryant & Stratton VA. With a "delay of game" violation by Bryant & Stratton, CBC started up 1-0 in the match. CBC fell to BSVA in map 2 on the "Hybrid" game mode to tie the series at 1-1. Map 3 the Hawks ended up one point away from forcing an overtime push on the "Escort" game mode, going down 1-2. In map 4, the "Push" game mode, CBC were dominate for 8 out of the 10 minutes of play. However, in the final two minutes, before the Hawks were able to force a map 5, Bryant & Stratton were able to find the needed progress to take the map win and series win 1-3. The following week, CBC faced off against #6 Brookdale Community College for a 3rd place match in the NJCAAE National Playoffs. Both teams have met before in close matches, with both teams battling it out to multiple map 5 series. This time, CBC Hawks were able to find the edge in the entire series, defeating Brookdale in a 3-0 series victory. CBC Overwatch finished 3rd Nationally in the NJCAAE Division 1 Playoffs, marking their 4th season in a row with an appearance and finish in National Playoffs.
